Co-Founder, Salt Creek Hemp Co
A co-founder of Salt Creek Hemp, Margaret MacKenzie has deep roots in Colorado. Margaret was an accomplished horseback rider, growing up outside of Denver and competing locally and internationally. An unfortunate accident sidelined her competing, and she turned her attention to getting her helicopter pilot’s license and working for nearly seven years for a utility helicopter company. When faced with selling her family’s ranch on the Western Slope of Colorado in 2014, she and her partners instead decided to dive headfirst into planting industrial hemp, with a commitment to organic and regenerative growing methods. Her dedication to furthering the hemp program in Colorado includes being a member of several boards, including the Colorado Hemp Industries Association, Hemp Feed Coalition and consulting with farmers and politicians. Margaret lives at the ranch in Collbran with her husband and partner Aaron, her two sons and numerous horses, cows and chickens.
